ArcGIS explorer
Mapped inventories, not live operations. Zoom in for detail; dense views ask for a closer zoom.
Rail sources: Natural Earth provides a generalized worldwide overview with uneven coverage; FRA / BTS provides detailed U.S., Canada, and Mexico rail lines (updated July 2026). These show infrastructure, not live trains.
Sources, dates & licensing
U.S. grid and pipelines: DOE / HIFLD transmission (2022) and gas pipelines (2019). Renewable sites: USGS wind and solar. Worldwide plants: WRI (historical catalog). Faults: GEM (CC BY-SA 4.0; hosted copy last edited 2024). Impact structures are an older ArcGIS archive including probable sites; it is not a current scientific census.

Coverage & sources
Emergency reports cover selected regions, not every call. Coverage and freshness vary by source. Vessels need an AISStream key and zoom 5+.
FIRMS marks heat detections; GDELT locations are approximate; hazard points are events, not footprints. Satellite imagery is not live. Sea conditions are forecasts. Scan locations are not confirmed attacks. Aircraft are thinned at globe scale.
Alerts use source polygons when available; some U.S. markers represent forecast zones or counties. Open an alert for official details. Outage feeds cover participating utilities in parts of Great Britain and the Netherlands: UK Power Networks, Northern Powergrid, SSEN, National Grid, and Liander. Supported by NGED Open Data.
Road feeds cover North America and parts of Europe. Sources include Fintraffic, TfL, Traffic Wales, Scottish Road Works Register, Bison Futé / DIR, Spain DGT, the Flemish Traffic Centre, GIPOD work zones, the Dutch NDW, and Autobahn GmbH. DeFlock reader locations are community mapped, not live plate reads.
